Elena Ranyuk PhD, MBA 

Co-founder & CEO

One of our core leaders, Elena serves as CEO of Flowlink Environmental leading the company’s strategic planning, technical due diligence, and product team integrations. A PhD chemist with years of post-doctoral research experience under her belt, she is intimately involved in company's Quality Management and Research & Development Programs. 

Elena’s passion for environmental issues coupled with her deep and expansive knowledge of current construction water treatment and monitoring practices set her on a path of identifying the gap in the construction market and introducing the concept of an automated, real-time discharge monitoring and control system that would minimize risk of environmental contamination through prevention and early detection. ​ In 2018, together with Tom, Elena co-founded Flowlink Environmental to make this concept a reality. 

Prior to her role as a co-founder and CEO of Flowlink Environmental, Elena served as the Technical Director at Stormtec Group for four years, leading the development and growth of a new market segment - contaminated water treatment. Before moving into the water management industry, Elena held Application Specialist & Postdoctoral Researcher roles in high-tech nuclear medicine industry and academia working on interdisciplinary projects ranging from preparation of novel materials for heavy metals removal from tap water to development of new cancer diagnostic and therapeutic agents.​

Elena has a PhD in Organic Chemistry from Lomonosov Moscow State University and an MBA in Management of Technology from Simon Fraser University. In 2018, she received an Annual Emerging Environmental Professional Award by the Environmental Managers Association of BC. In her pursuit to create positive change throughout the industry, she currently volunteers on the board of directors of ESCA BC, an association dedicated to increasing the level of expertise in the erosion and sediment control field throughout British Columbia.
